YAHOO has a poll called "VOTE: Should guns be allowed in national parks?"
Although the decision is done, it is always a good idea to publicly cast a "poll vote" in favor of the fullest and freest exercise for law-abiding citizens.
Your "vote" sends a message.

Internet polls are useless. As far as I can tell, I can vote as many times as I want. So what's the point, anyway?

While mere perception is not sufficient in the cause of promoting the fullest and freest exercise of the Second Amendment, it is necessary.
The fight for the Second Amendment is only a PR war--let's try to win it so it does not transmogrify under our watch into some even less unproductive.
Given that you apparently belong to an NRA members council, I would have expected you to comprehend the importance of promoting positive perceptions.
Given that you just witnessed an election in which perception defeated reality, I would have expected you to comprehend the importance of promoting positive perceptions.
Given that the "perfect is the enemy of the good," I would have expected you to comprehend the importance of promoting positive perceptions.
Given that Americans' commitment to the fullest and freest exercise of the Second Amendment over the next four years is likely to suffer the severest attacks it has ever experienced, I would have expected you to comprehend the importance of promoting positive perceptions.
Attitude is everything in this battle.
Have you checked yours lately?
Another question: What is a better outcome for the poll, pro-carry or anti-carry?
And since it is free and convenient, why shouldn't we all register our position?
The vast majority of people who read that poll have nothing to do with the NRA and probably do not bring to bear the level of critical awareness which you do--but shouldn't we try to create the perception of the highest level of support for the fullest and freest exercise of the Second Amendment anyway?
None of us can afford the luxury of a negative thought in this battle.
Not even you.

I agree with Tarn Helm on this one. Whether it really matters or not in the real world, why give the Brady mob another stick to beat us with?

Looks to me that it's not about guns being allowed or not. Guns are allowed, if they are unloaded and in the trunk - this voting is about concealed & loaded guns, right?

Voted yes, but I would have liked to see this in http://calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=136167&highlight=national+parks instead.

If left unchallenged, perception becomes reality.

30635 votes
58% yes
40% no
2% not sure
Okay folks, you all know the drill. Post this on your favorite large national and international gun forums. Let's hit it!
With BHO and the Dems winning big-time, we've got to show them and the MSM that we're not just going to roll over and die. (Yeah, I know not all Dems are antis. But the old guard Dem leadership who still run things definitely are hardcore antis.) Let's start taking some of the wind out of the antis' sails now so that they figure it will cost them too much politically to go after our 2nd A RKBA. These next 4 years will be a test of our discipline and determination. Let's not be found wanting.
