Been in the area about 3 months. Is there any place decent around here to buy ammo?Anyone know the closest Wal-mart that sells ammo in my area?I've been to Turners,LAX and Sharpshooters and I'm not really all that impressed.I knew coming here from Louisiana would suck as far as guns go but I never thought I would have such a hard time finding ammo. Thanks for the help.

From Redondo, I would say the closest, decently stocked ammo store would be ammo bros in cerritos (30-40 min from you).

What kind of ammo are you looking for?

If you're looking for 9mm and 45acp, I'd suggest the Wal-Mart at 2770 Carson St. in Lakewood.

$16 / 100 rounds of 9mm
$26 / 100 rounds of 45acp

What kind of ammo are you looking for?

9mm(WWB),.357sig(WWB,Speer Lawman),.32ACP(Fiocchi) and 12ga.(Winchester or Remington).Just looking for some FMJ's and inexpensive 00 buck and slugs.I had to leave my evil black rifles out of state so my 870 is picking up carbine duty for SHTF.

I could also use some birdshot that isn't way over priced.

Thanks all for the help.Just trying to figure this area out.

Yeah, I'm from Torrance & for us in the southbay Wal-Mart in lakewood is the cheapest. Cheaper than Ammo-bros, besides ammobros are out of stock on alot of their reloads.

Hey, I was born and raised in Redondo Beach. Haven't been back in quite sometime. You can't imagine how rural Redondo and Torrance use to be in the 1950-1960's. My parents bought a corner lot on the Esplanade Strand near Nob Hill for 20 thousand dollars in 1955. Mom still lives there, and complains about the beach sand that blows into the back door. Anyways, check the Big 5 ads in the paper. There's one on Hawthorne Blvd. north of 182nd. There use to be a gun store in old downtown Torrance called Torrance Sporting Goods. Not cheap, but they have some of the things the chain stores can't get. If they are still lin business. There's a Turners on Hawthorne at the I-405. It's on the Redondo/Lawndale boundry.

Not sure about 357 sig and 32 acp, but I think walmart will have all of the other calibers you mentioned at decent (i.e likely the cheapest) prices around... Quite a bit cheaper than turners or sharpshooters.

Don't do Big 5. They're priced higher than Wal-Mart. Many a shooter has found this out the hard way.
