Apparently it just happened and details are light at the moment. Let's just all take a moment to remember the 4 rules of gun safety.

Here's a quick update. Fortunately, the injury is minor. I go to ASC frequently. Does anyone know the employee who was hurt?:

Minor injuires at gun range
San Diego police say the person injured earlier today at an indoor shooting range was an employee who was wounded when a weapon malfunctioned.
The accident was reported at noon at the American Shooting Center in Kearny Mesa on Ruffin Road near Chesapeake Drive.
The man was trying to clear a jam in a weapon when the gun went off, police said. He was hit in the hand.

There are at least two things wrong with this.

Interesting, how the leftist media reports it as "a shooting!" without mentioning that it is a self-inflicted wound.
I'm really well on my way to reaching 100% fed up with California. Anyone want to buy a nice 3BD/2BA house with a pool on 1/2 acre, on a hill with a view in Vista, CA? Actually, it is on county property and NOT in the Vista city limits.

This is hearsay, but on the SDShooting mailing list, word is the round went into the ceiling and the only injury is a bad case of slide bite to the thumb. Of course, I doubt any media reporting this "shooting" will print an update if this turns out to be the case.

That wouldn't surprise me.
Either way, I hope the guy heals quickly.

LOL ^
If there was a shooting, I want to know what they were shooting at.
Otherwise it wasn't a shooting. It was a negligent discharge.

The only reason why the media was able to write this story is because someone from that range reported it if this ends up being a case of "slide bite".

Word around the campfire is that it was a ND and the guy broke his thumb somehow. Probably had it positioned behind the slide on an autochucker and it got bent back big time. Saw this oncet a shooting range in NYC with a glock...horrible.

I went shooting there last night. Now that I read this story, the gal behind the counter was taking extra precautions in case of malfunctions, asking me to "get someone, even though it's not a rental".
No malfunctions for me in 300 rounds. What fun!

So was he shot in the hand or did the slide hit his hand when the gun went off?
