I brought this up in Riflemans forum with no respose. I was wondering if Kasler list have typos, and if so does DoJ issue corrections. Consern is regarding a purchase of Arsenal SGL10-01 (Saiga). Now Arsenal SGL is not listed on Kasler but there is SLG, which is.

OK, I think I answered my own question. I talked to DOJ representative Mike Kelly who told me that the list is what it is and specifies Arsenal SLG. He also said that they pretty much go with Category 3 now days. He took a look at the rifle online and told me tha sure enough it is NOT on the list and as it is configured does NOT fall on to Category 2 or Category 3. But at the end he essentially said that DAs are open to interpretation though. Later that day I talked to guy named Bob who also confirmed the same info. Bob added that CHP may also confiscate the rifle at their discrettion.

Here's a nice one:

12276. As used in this chapter, "assault weapon" shall mean the following designated semiautomatic firearms:
(a) All of the following specified rifles:
(15) Steyer AUG.
I think that it could be dangerous to say that a Steyr AUG is Off-list.
