Just need rings and a trip to the range this week! I'm so excited about this rifle. I sold my AR lower because the dream was too expensive and too far out to acheive...so I went with the inexpensive/fun choice in a .22lr!

Since it's not a RUGER 10/22 receiver but an NDS-22R from Nodak Spud LLC, I'm at odds on what to call it. Was thinking of spiting the proper speaking gun community by calling it a "Deuce Deuce" or something lame.

Ok, enough with the blab..here she is:
Nodak Spud LLC receiver model "NDS 22R"
Hornet custom trigger group
Green Mountain 20" fluted Stainless Steel barrel (courtesey of SigShooter)
Power Custom handle/guide rod
Ruger bolt assembly
Hogue "Ghillie Tan" rubber overmold stock
Simmons 3-9x32 scope

nice, that's very close to the rifle I'm working on. . . except different colors.

You doing the OD green one? I almost did that, and was thinking of doing a green barrel and receiver too..that'd be cool. Of course green stock and black metal is nice too. Just thought I'd be different..plus it's hard as heck finding the OD green hogue stock out there..plus, i found this ghillie tan one for only $90shipped.

photographing on that blanket trips out my eyes.

Ah, no, I'm just doing black on black for now. Then once it's assembled I'll think about a better stock in OD.

It's an excellent receiver, but my only beef is the height of it in the rear. Unlike a nice sloped ruger receiver that blends nicely with any stock, i got this frankenstein looking block of aluminium sticking up. Now, with an optic that draws attention away from it, it's fine. And when you're shooting, you definitely don't even notice or care..but for showing off in pics...yeah, it's a little much. But in the end, I don't care too much about that. I like that it's light, exact to Ruger spec, and milled from a single block of aluminium. AND....since I've given in to the pressures of trying to get to that 1/2" mark...I've picked out one of them colored, thumbhole, newfandangled stocks to see if it relieves the barrel any more and secures the receiver. If it doesn't improve, I'll have more luck bedding this wood stock than the hogue..which is why I'm now selling the hogue stock for a good price.

This with the first coat of tung oil on it. 4 or 5 coats to go! (yes, i got the unfinished version)

Also, here was the finished, scoped version with the hogue. I also have a reflex for it that I didn't get a pic for, but it looks ok.

And of course the semi-finished product....(still got a few more coats of tung oil to put on it)

Good job ! Both versions look good to me ,and the offset rings on the scope are a nice touch.

Actually, those black rings were just to use until I could get some silver ones. They're finally on their way now..low ones.

Thanks for the compliments! I just want to get out and shoot the thing now with the new stock so i can get disappointed and start thinking about bedding or pinning the action to the stock somehow! lol

I will soon be getting a green Nodak reciever for my 10/22. I found a green stock fairly easy and after some trouble found a green barrell

That's a nice setup. Those TacSol receivers ($359) are nice and colorful too and I think they come with internals..(bolt/rod/spring) but I'm not sure. I'd like a red barreled action on a black anchutz stock some day..if I get 2 of these ".22lr semiautos" (can't call them 10/22s!).

Be cool if there was an AICS stock for the 10/22 action.
