Yes, I did a search!

I want to buy a .458 Socom upper, which uses of course a standard 30 round 5.56 magazine as its feeding mechanism, although in that caliber it only holds ten rounds.

One guy on here actually had that monogrammed on the magazine "Capacity - 10 rounds .458 Socom" which was cool.

Still, how do you buy mags for these things around here - buy them as parts and assemble them? I'll need at least 5 30 rounders (giving me 5 ten rounders in effect) for my new upper.

What to do?

I will admit to liking the fact these mags are interchangeable with my 5.56 rifles just in case, but that really is not my intent with this purchase.

you can get a rebuild kit from .44mag.com and assemble them as a 10 round socom round so long as they don't say 5.56/.223 on them. Also, don't be carrying around a .223 upper with .223 rounds and all of a sudden you have constructive possession of a contraband item.

No constructive possession in CA regarding AW.

Do you mean that constructive posession doesn't apply here or that its a no-no with an assault weapon?

Constructive possession only applies to short barreled rifles/shotguns and machineguns.

No worries, anything to get the word out, and to help promote quality vendors.

I'm looking at getting a .50 Beowulf upper some day, but too bad I can't currently justify it.
