Blah, blah, blah...way easier to build the lower than I expected. Put it together last week and took it out to the range on Sunday to sight it in. Put 100 trouble free rounds of PMC Bronze .223 (ROK) downrange. Man, these things sure are fun to shoot! Now I just need to get the money together for a sight.

Here's the build, basic as she may be:

High Standard Lower
Stag 2HT Upper w/MI SLPS flip up rear sight
Stag LPK
Stag stock
Bullet Button

Thanks guys! These things are damn fun to shoot!!

Cost was just under $1k out the door and it took me all of 40 minutes to put the lower together and pin the upper on. If I was building another one, I'm sure I could do it in 20 minutes or less. It's really not that hard. I didn't even use any special tools. Small hammer, needle nose pliers, small hex screwdriver bit as a pin punch, big flat blade screwdriver, a roll of electrical tape and a small block of wood so as not to break or damage a trigger guard ear. It ain't rocket science building a lower. Now, building an upper? That's a whole different ball game and I would highly suggest having the appropriate tools etc.

Since it was my first build, I had the ar15 build guide up on the laptop along with the ar build video and took my time. Watched each section of the video first, then install components. Watch a section of the video, install components. Even took the trigger assembly back out and installed it again just to fully acquaint myself with everything.

Now to figure out what glass to top it off with????

Nice!

I just finished a very similar rifle yesterday, minus sights. Hopefully you won't get the same "M4gery" speech I got  .

Where are your extra rifle mags? You are using a bullet button, right?

Looks great!

Now save your pennines for a stronger gun case to help keep it looking great.

Working on more mags. One works for the immediacy. Bullet Button for sure...

Sigh...sights. If money were no object, I'd go with a Mirco H-1 on a LaRue mount combined with a 3x magnifier on a LaRue flip mount. Reality says something more along the lines of a used Bushnell Elite 3200, for now anyway. ;)

nice. is that M&P a .40 or 9mm?

this is kind of frustrating, I see everybody else building rifles, and I am still waiting for my upper kit to come in. Called them today, and they told me 3-4 week backlog. Arghhh
