Here are a few pictures of my new rimfire AR15 build with my GSG5. The AR is build on a STAG lower and a CZ V22 upper. The lower was smithed by our own SuperSonic, a friend of mine and a crack black rifle smith. Both guns will undergo continued metamorphasis but this is the start ... :) I built the table. :)

Nice set of .22's. I cannot decide which .22lr rifle to go with. I am currently torn between a dedicated .22lr AR or the gsg. Any problems with the gsg?

Nice table btw.

I have had no real problems with the GSG except that my forearm cracked around the mounting pin because I over tightened it maybe. They send me a new one no charge so that is cool.
Which one get get depends, in my opinion, on what you .are going to do with it and which way you would go if you wanted the AR. I would not buy a conversion kit. The 223 barrels are the wrong dimensions for 22lr ammo and the kits impress me as much less durable then a dedicated upper.

If you want to shoot the crap out of it -- and by that I mean put 100s of thousands of rounds through it, then I would get the AR. Also, if you are wanting true MOA accuracy, I think some AR uppers can do that. My GSG5 is unlikely to do that. I have not accuracy tested either of them yet but just based on how the GSG5 is built versus the V22, I doubt the German gun will equal the accuracy of the AR. Also, while there is a ton of airsoft kit you can put on the GSG5, there are ZERO internal parts upgrades that I know of where as the AR can be totally rebuilt internally with a mind boggling array of parts from plinker to milspec to match grade parts. Again, all depends on what you want the gun for. The GSG5 is a great plinker and a would be awesome in tactical run and gun steel matches for rimfires. The AR can do those things and can serve as an accuracy match rifle for rimfire sniper matches, long range offhand shooting, and training for hi power matches or AR operational work. JMHO.

Thanks for the reply. Considering that I plan on using it as a cheap ammo plinker, I think I'm going with the gsg. That way I'll put more money into .223 AR.

Thanks again.
