The Brady campaign sure is getting lots of ammo this week:

1. Halloween trick or treat shooting -http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=129306
2. Long beach homeless shot - http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2008/11/few-clues-in-lo.html
3. Masked man with gun stops traffic on 101 - http://www.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_10887203

Obviously more unarmed victims is will be the answer to this crisis.

And if they say anything stupid saying it was our fault, time to sue them. :43:

well considering how much extra crime went on the last two weeks...haven't seen the police this busy in a long time....I guess three or four incidents is not very much

I dissagree, a dead kid by an AK. Have a little respect for the kid!

How many of these people were in legal posession of the weapon used? How many laws were broken in their use? How will yet another law help? Same old story, different gun ban.

Sadly, how many died is not the issue. It is the sensationalism of how they died (or were threatened) and how the politicians use this for political gain by further de-arming law abiding citizens and fooling the masses to think they are somehow safer now.

And while I certainly think 2A rights are a just cause, I fear an even larger threat. Erosion of 2A rights threaten everyone on two non gun fronts:

1. It establishes legal precedent for crippling/bypassing constitutional rights, thus placing all constitutional amendments from the 1st on down in jeopardy.

2. It further reinforces the nanny state mentality. Stupidity can not be outlawed in a free society. Evil people will sometimes commit evil acts in a free society. This is the price of freedom.

That would explain the "Obamy for Head Nanny" bumper sticker I saw this morning.

I can't see how any guy with a gun could shut down a freeway like that. Any guy I see waving a gun at my car on the freeway is going to turn into a speed bump.

The kid shooting himself with an (full auto) uzi at the gun show was no bueno on every level.
