Hey, why is it i can't find anyone talking about the Smith and Wesson M&P 15? I assume it's not a piece of junk just because of it's maker. Is it just uncommon? It seems quality and i'm surprised it's not more popular.

I think they just put their name on it. But if you want an AR marked S&W it's teh way to go. Remington R-15s are made by Bushmaster.

Who makes it then? Are they any good?

sells the stripped lower M&P's? My brother has 2 M&P's (Nv) and I've shot the crap out of one of them. He bought 2 trhu CDNN for $1400 delivered to his ffl who charged another $50 to process the 5 guns he bought plus $200 in rebate cash about 6 months ago. The 2 he has are great and I would like to buy some Lowers made by them. Who sells the lowers??

This guy, and he will ship to CA. I bought one from him.

AR lowers are nothing special. They're all mil-spec, but some people collect different brands.

I don't honestly know who sells the stripped ones only. The one i am looking at is built. I'm sure someone sells them though.

I'll be picking up my M&P15T in 2 days. I have an Eotech for it. Magpul grip and stock, CMMG trigger, that's a good start.

The single stage trigger is the best factory trigger I have used yet. Quality seems to be very good and accuracy is great. Despite the fact that the mag well is out of spec and the rifle is the tightest M-16 pattern rifle I have ever seen (and I recieved some brand new FN M-16A2 back in the 90s), the reliability has been 100%. Unfortunately, I got a bad one that will not drop magazines and have to return it to Smith. Be advised that Smith will not ship the rifle back to a California address if you have to have any warranty work done on it (in fact when I gave the guy my Kali mailing address for him to send the shipping label he told me "you aren't supposed to have them in Kalifornia"). Since I'm in living in Texas right now, it isn't that much of an issue for me, but it could be for you. I tried to educate them on Kali OLL laws but they just said that they would not ship it back to a Kali address.

With that in mind, I'd probably go with a company like Stag that is at least aware of the fact that we can own them in the PRK.

I just put one together today. If the rain stops I might get a chance to shoot it this weekend. Fit and finish are excellent, I got the LPK from Bushmaster when they were on sale last week and it went together without a hitch. No problem with the mag well, I am using the BB and a Colt 5 round mag.
I will let you know how it performs at the range whenever I get out

Scott - Did you ever get out to the range?

My M&P15T shoots great. I had an issue with the CMMG trigger but they're taking care of me. The stock trigger is crisp so it will end up in my next build. You might want to contact JK Supply. I think he's expecting some S&W lowers.

Who is taking care of you? SW or CMMG?

I bought mines from CIty Arms in Pacifica. Mines was a bare lower, but when installing all the parts, I had no issues what so ever.

wasn't S&W one of the supporters of the 94 AWB or something like that?

Discount Gun Mart in S.D. has them in stock, but they are a little pricey for me.

CMMG is handling it. They are sending me a trigger with a different disconnector profile.

Stag won't ship lower receivers into Ca. We get them through out-of-state FFLs. They may be "aware", but have made a business decision to CYA. The reason Stags are here, as well as S&W M&Ps are your local FFLs willing to do the leg work to get them here..

Frank at Tabors said yesterday that RSR (wholesaler) has S&W lowers in stock as we speak.
