Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for putting this thing on. I went through 3 times and had a blast.

For anyone thinking of going, it was a lot of fun. Smoke, ghosts and zombies.

A buddy of mine was concerned about safety with people doing action on an indoor range, especially people like me who'd never moved and shot before.
The bullseye crew made sure that no one was loaded or touching a gun but the shooter and even the shooter did not load until he was on the course in the first shooters box. Everything was clearly marked and the head rangemaster (there were 3 each time I went) walked the group - only groups of 3 at a time went in the actual course area - through each time.

Weapons were unloaded to start and were checked again at the end of the course for each shooter - mags out and actions opened and check with a light to ensure no live rounds before the shooter left the course.

Very fun and very safe. A good combo!

To be honest, this makes me want to take a couple of classes.

Thanks to Doug for the goat and camel stories and to Dedeye for wearing a dress and for being the target of about 10 cans of silly string. That's what happens when you wear a dress. LOL

Anyway, lots of fun and if you were thinking of going: GO! Take as many mags or speed loaders as you can carry and load up. The zombies aren't going to kill themselves!

Thanks to the whole bullseye crew and the range staff, a real great bunch of guys!!!! Anyone thinking of going, should really head on down there. You won't be disappointed.

It was our pleasure! On behalf of Bill, Pam and the Bullseye crew, thanks to everyone who came.

A few things we learned on our first attempt at a Zompacalypse: Many mags and lots of ammo is the preferred zombie killing technique. Semi-auto rules the day for sure. There were lots of surviving zombies at the end of a few of the courses of fire, so definitely don't hold back on the trigger. Make sure to put enough rounds downrange to get the job done. Bill walked onto the course with 108 rounds and barely survived (though that may be due to his accuracy, but I suspect he'd disagree :p).

We're still learning here, but tomorrow we promise to be faster on the setting up again between stages so there should be less waiting around. Thanks Calgunners for making this event a success! Hope to see more of you tomorrow.
