How do you load your mags? I use stripper clips. Which I have my son fill, lol. In the 80's someone was selling a crank driven quick loader, anyone know anything about this?

One by one by one. The more time I spend loading, the less money I blow expending the ammo. The nice thing (sort of) about our ten round mags is that they slow your shooting way down.

LULAs for the FALs, M1As, AKs and ARs, unless the ammo is on stripper clips already. UpLULA for the pistols that are a pain to load the last round in when the mags are new.

Good part of the LULA to me is if you need to unload mags at home, almost as fast as unloading them via the barrel and ejection port..... almost. ;)

Before 10rd mags, I used stripper clips :). Now one by one for our 10 rd mags:(

I have a unique way not covered by others.. I use stripper clips BUT then I modified one of the old stripper clip speed loaders that you push down onto the mag - since we have to load from the top of the mag with the mag in the rifle - and fits over the mag top while in the rifle. this way, I take a stripper clip, push on the speed loader tool, and run the stripper clip right down it and it fills the 10 rnd mag hella fast.

Most of us are using the Bullet Button and dropping mags.

What's with all the P50 and Bushmaster people today?

I use strippers and the Lula when they're not - if I remember it. Otherwise 1x1. LULA is the best loader I've found.

I love my StripLULA.

That works great with strippers

I should mention I have both the Cammengas and a Beta loader... I don't care for the Cammenga loaders (slower than anything). The Beta mag loader is pretty good, too.

Both the LULAs own, though.

This is what I really want:

It's just too expensive. I can't fathom paying that much for a loader that only works with AR mags.

I load mine with ammo. The pointy bullet thingies point out.

OK, I load my 1911 mags by hand, my double stack mags either by hand or with a glock style loading tool, my 10-22 mags with the tool shown above, my .22 pistol mags with a similar loader (the BEST mag loader I've ever seen) and my rifle mags by hand (I've tried just about everything and prefer not to mess around with mag loaders when I can just top feed mags.

Most of us are using the Bullet Button and dropping mags.

I have one.. but do not fancy removing the mag while at the local gun range as I do not want to attract attention & cause someone to tweak out if I remove the mag to load as I know law enforcement shoot there.

I suspect you will saw, "but since you use a tool to remove the mag it is legal".. but still, it seems that is such a gray area, I will just top load.

not that it is even what we rare talking about here, but I would tend to bet that popping my top open, and using my tool to push in a stripper clip is faster than dropping a mag and reloading it and replacing it

:owned: Can't believe I missed this post way back when :D. Dude, it's over $1k for a loader that only works with 30 round mags! Where's the versatility?

I don't even think I have the RAM anymore :p.

That's not a gray area, it's a matter of personal comfort. Please don't confuse the two.

The bolt catch will prevent you from using a stripper clip. Top loading is slower. Period.

I load mine one at a time also. Much easier to load AR mags than my Glock mags. Every round in an AR mag slides in easy. The last two going into my Glock mags will kill your thumb after about 100 or so rounds so I use an UpLula for the Glock mags. :)
