I am planning on picking up some run of the the mill FMJ XM 5.56mm, and FMJ .45 in Bulk near Reno next week while in town. Search function is hanging for me on the site now.
Are there any prohobitions/laws on transporting accross state lines back to Kali? 1000 rounds or so of each.
Thanks in advance.

Make sure you don't have any stray tracer rounds that wound up in the surpluss
each round is a separate felony count

I'm just curious what is the "reasoning" why tracers are a felony? Not that cali guns laws have any reasoning.

One possible reason to regulate tracers is due to the extreme fire hazard that shooting them poses.

The historical reason that tracer rounds are prohibited in California is a tie to them starting large wildfires.

THe OP is talking about getting both rifle and pistol ammo, so the warning does apply, despite the rarity of actual AP pistol ammo.
