View Full Version : Are these CA legal? FAL & Maadi

Would these be California legal based on what's imprinted on the lower? Could I just use a bullet button and call it good?

Maadi stamping reads: "RML Semi Automatic Rifle; Caliber 7.62x39; Maadi Company; Made in Egypt"
I know Maadi AK47 is on the list of restricted guns but the lower doesn't exactly say "Maadi AK47." No mods to rifle.

This here is the FAL. Would this be California legal? No mods to rifle.

Bweise has already commented on the problematic nature of a rifle bearing the "AK47" moniker. It's a little gray even for me and I'll transfer just about anything. The "FAL" looks like it says it's an L1A1 made by Century International Arms. As such, it doesn't appear to be on any list that I can see. A Bullet Button should make it perfectly legal......but any one of the 58 DAs might...... ;)

RML woul be the model. maadi is mfr.

Thank you for the info..so does that mean it is an off list AK? I am soo confused. Both lists do not say all Maadi's (likr Colt for example) only certain ones. I can not find an Maadi receiver that is listed that reads as posted.ideas?

MAADI CO

The "RML" is an off list. Are there any other markings on the rifle?

the RML should be good to go if you can find an FFL to transfer it.

Slightly OT question: do any of the Maadis (or Hakims for that matter) use Arabic script for their make/model?

The RML is OK.
