Tagged my very first buck today in D-9. He was a 2x2 that I had a bead on last week before a pickup drove up the road and spooked him. Hes no monster, but then I'm no trophy hunter either. Has to be getting closer to the rut because he was more interested in that doe than me. Shot at 207 yards liquefied his heart and both lungs. He was dead before the dust settled. Now the tuff part how do I post the couple pics I got............http://www.mlinks.net/~american_pride/Deer/Phone%20pics%20071.jpghttp://www.mlinks.net/~american_pride/Deer/Phone%20pics%20075.jpghttp://www.mlinks.net/~american_pride/Deer/Phone%20pics%20078.jpghttp://www.mlinks.net/~american_pride/Deer/Phone%20pics%20070.jpg

Good job there. Posting pictures is easier than bagging a Ca legal buck.

Congats on your first buck. Keep those antlers for memory lane.

If that is a black tail...you might have an older buck than you think. If it's about 140lb on the hoof...you have deer that was a 3x3 or 3x4 last year...they to go back to a large 2 pointer at a point...I think thats what you bagged from the size of the antlers...If its a black tail and not a mule.

Looks like 100 lbs tops and he doesn't have any eyeguards. Young buck that should be good eating. Good job!

That is a nice buck. Heavy horned too. I tagged a smaller version with the same shape on D13 opener.
