Anybody who would like to have a little "get together" on a coming up Saturday or Sunday, chime in. My car is a bit short on room, so anyone with an SUV/pickup that wants to let me (and my gear) hitch a ride gets some free Tannerite & ammo!:D

Might be still closed but i am definitely down to meet there sometime. I don't have weekends off until the end of november.
What kind of ammo for the ride?

1. This is for future planning 2. I didn't know they were closed 3. as far as ammo (assuming they open back up (or someone knows of some BLM area near Sac), you could probably pretty much name it. I kinda went "overboard" on stocking up on surplus for most of the calibers I shoot.

Colfax is closed and will probably never re-open.

This was the email I received on 10/29/08.

Dear fellow shooters,
Unfortunately, I have bad news. I just got off the phone with Bill Haigh of the Folsom BLM office and he informed me that the Bureau will be closing down the Area permanently.
The reasons stated are the complaints and fears of the railroad, the close proximity to I80, the fire hazard, and the trash.

Maybe an after Thanksgiving shoot on Friday the 28th of November? I have the Friday after turkey day off and I bet many others do as well.

that sounds fun I'll see if I can make it. I've been wanting to check out Spenceville for awhile.

Did you end up going.

I am very very sad to see Colfax closed. I had been shooting there for years. I actually found this forum looking for a new place to shoot. I live in Rancho Cordova in walking distance of the range there. However I miss being able to double tap.
