so is the low mass buffer for carbine applications or what are the benefits of it?
12-02-2008, 7:58 PM
The low mass probably could be used in a carbine but I believe it was meant for rifle length. Its a part you can use to help fine tune your rifle and the way it cycles.
There have been threads discussing the pros and cons of using a heavy or light buffer.
A lot of people including myself use the low mass buffers, lightened bolt carriers, shorter buffer spring, adjustable gas blocks and a muzzle brake to smoothen out the felt recoil. It makes for faster follow up shots and helps with seeing your hits at long distance. When shooting steel plates at distance its nice to see your bullet blow up, or see where in the dirt you hit so you can immediately change your point of aim.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more ?s
