right now i got a rra upper witht he 16 inch barrel and i was stuck on which rail would be a better choice for me, right now im looking at either a vltor casv ( http://www.vltor.com/casv.htm ) or a daniel defense omega rail
( http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Daniel-Defense-Omega-Rail-Carbine-Free-Float-FDE-p/dd%20omega%207%20fde.htm )

i plan to later on purchase a gas block n put either an eotech 552 or a trijicon acog

I vote DD. With an 18'' barrel are you carbine or mid?

I wouldn't choose either of those. With an 18" barrel you're much better off going with a dedicated rail.

If you meant 16" barrel then I guess it could be carbine or mid, but with 18" you're gonna be mid or rifle.

I'd agree with the above... DD Lite or LaRue.

The CAS-V is too tall. The DD Omega is too heavy.

Reason I ask is because I have a CASV and when I got it all they were making were carbine models.

You corrected the barrel length, but what length gas system do you have? What FSB do you have/want to have?

Well, if your rockin a Carbine, either rail you already suggested are good rails. I have used both and they both feel fine. My CASV is not free float though.

Free float = accuracy.....FYI

CASV is free-float! The attaching points would be your top rail of your uppre receiver. What do you mean that your CASV is NOT FF?

If you go for low-profile gas block, get either DD Omega 12 or Lite 12.

IMHO, the coolness of CASV is more than DD rails.:D
