Is there as much FUD being spread about the GSG-5 as the AR and AK OLLs or are they generally seen as being fine?

On the whole, would I be less or equally likely to be hassled by the RO or police with a GSG-5 than an OLL?

gsg5 are seen *** less evil because its rimfire, even places that genrally wont touch OLL's stock gsg5s

You'll be fine.. Remember that you might get looked at but it's legal...... you'll be fine

No issue with GSG5 at all, just tell people that it is a .22LR rimfire...

But then, no issue at all with registered AR or OLL neither...

I just don't shoot at places where I may have any troubles ;-)

Oh boy I'm getting my GSG-5 out of jail this Saturday.... Hope it doesn't rain on Sunday, as I have some range plans for it. I want to compare it to my Spikes 22lr. :jump:

I noticed an advert in Gun List from a company that specifically stated they now carry 10 round mags for the GSG rifle AND pistol making each legal in CA. The advert was written not to say "10 round mags are legal in CA" but rather that using a 10 round mag would make your GSG PISTOL legal in CA.

So far as I'm aware, a rimfire handgun with a PG & detach mag is an AW - no exemption for a rimfire and the advert certainly didn't reference fixed mags.

FUD that keeps you from having fun is I guess not as bad as FUD that could get you in hot water with the police.

Just about every semi-auto pistol has a "pistol grip" (hence the name "pistol" grip) and a detachable magazine. What you mean is that it has a detachable magazine OUTSIDE of the pistol grip. And no, rimfire is not exempt from this category of AW classification.

if you go to la puente gun range then FUD will be thrown at you since it looks evil. dont bother arguing.

I have seen gun stores that are selling the GSG5 but refuse to touch EBRs.

This is in regards to a .22 HANDGUN right? I hope this doesn't apply to long guns as well.

Yes it does apply to semi-auto long guns as well, no pistol grips with detachable magazines unless its a registerred CA AW.

Or rimfire. The law states CENTERFIRE rifle.
