Been looking at the Accuracy International stocks for some time now but they all seem to be sold at/or around $795-800.

Are there any places that sell it for less or do they have some serious MAP enforcement?

Doubtful, seeing as how they are constantly sold out and there is only one distributor for them. (they are imported from the UK)

I've seen used ones go for $650-700, but they've usually been modified to fit people's receiver lugs.

Weak dollar. Imported. Limited number. Had three. Should have kept them.

Should have kept every gun I got rid of.
Sigh...

Guys, I got an AICS 1.5, tan, with .338 LM mag I might sell. Check my for sale add here for Stiller TAC338 action. Price would be $780, picked up in Sacramento area. If I sell stock only I'll keep my Receiver and LM brass.

What about the stock off my R-5?
It's an HS and I'm putting a JAE on mine.
Comes with trigger guard.

That's the one I'm looking for.
I already have another 700 sitting in an 5r take-off HS.
Don't need the triggerguard though as I have a bunch and this one is getting Seekins 223 DBM.

Guys,
Total newbie regarding precision rifles.................... but...
What are the differences between the different versions of AI?
I am seriously considering thus set up but i may have to sell my AR
for the purpose.
Also, How come no one else has copied their design ? I know CZ has a similar one but they dont sell the stock by itself & their complete rifle is like 1700.00

someone was selling just the side panels for AI i.e minus the aluminum stuff that goes between the pane;s but then its not like one can just buy the parts to complete it.

Ordered one through a local vendor. Thanks for all the posts!

I will be selling my 700P HS Precision stock soon.

I'm not sure how much they go for though so I'll have to check on that.

Do I need to keep any parts/bolts etc. from the current gun for the new AICS stock?

The HS stock is practically brand new. Took it out once for 20 rounds. It also has the Blackhawk cheek rest and pouch.

The AICS stock should come with action screws.
You do not need any of the bottom metal or parts off the old stock.
The action will drop in and the magazine well is all part of the stock.

I was thinking about listing it on eBay for $200 buy it now. Figured someone would use the MSN live cash back which is 20% off, which would then make it 160 + shipping for the buyer. If any Calguns members wanted it such as yourself ar15barrels :), I would make it free shipping as well. Not 100% sure I'll list it on there but that's the plan at this point.

PM me the item number and I'll probably take it if it's in real good condition.

You want to know the different versions of AI rifles OR the different versions of the AICS stock.

For AICS:
2.0 - folding stock, adjustable cheek rest
1.5 - fixed stock, adjustable cheek rest
1.0 - fixed stock, fixed cheek rest

Also, How come no one else has copied their design ?

You can go try.... there is a AIRSOFT copy, if you are all about "copying".... and not about functionality...

Those are AICS "skins".... for you to change the outside.... NOT for you to try to put together one parts by parts...

Thanks Jicko.............. I was just wondering about the different types of stocks
and a big no to airsoft copy..........

Again, this design is not the best for everyone.
If you like the ergonomics it works for you.
The AICS has achieved a sort of mythical status because of the reputation of the AI RIFLE which is a rather simple bolt gun with an overly complex system for keeping the polymer skins on the aluminum skeleton (two dozen tiny screws) I found the folder cool, because it was something that McMillan could not duplicate, but you can drop your rifle into and H-S PST stock and be good to go. If you want you gun to look like an Accuracy International. get a AICS.

Someone actually did try to copy the AI design a number of years ago. It was the UARS. They got sued by AI and had to take the design off the market. IIRC, it was this copy that led to AI developing the AICS for the Remington action.

MCM has a folding stock. Its an option for the A3-5 builds ONLY from MCM. Or atleast used to be.

That thing's f-ing ugly too.
At least the JAE looks good, even if it is heavy as hell.
