They are the s&w factory boot grips and I ordered em from midway USA.

That is why I only collect Ruger No1 rifles with red buttpads. Anything newer and the wood looks like a stained 2x4. Of course my 1972 German Weatherby MKV is no slouch either.

^ y'all have some nice wood stocks

metal's cold, ugly. wood's warm, clean, provided by nature.
see a piece of furniture take place, it's like watching a child grow.

especially like the ebony..
my grandfather carved stocks for Reinhart Fajen for many, many years..
still have a fair sized chunk of ebony he made grip caps from..
took a small piece of it to school when I was a kid to show how it didn't float ;)

some of mine.. nothing fancy, just checkered for function :p

Those are Keith brown, original ropers are usually with very plain wood. Here is a set on my registered magnum, they are even more rare than the patterned models that Keith brown copied.

interesting.. we call it hedge wood.. they drop softball sized fruit we called hedge apples

make great corner posts and burns hotter than hell in the fireplace..

doggone thorns are no joke, same as locust trees.. right through a leather glove..

here's a surviving piece from Fajen's shop in warsaw that grandpa carved for a store sample..

not even close to his best work but something Fajen customers could touch and hold before buying..

fits a Remington rolling block I was told, haven't been able to find one yet..
