After i failed my first try of building an AR15 .. i think i got it right this time. :D

Thanks to Irvington Arms and for Calguns.net that served as my guide to make this project a reality. No more top loading and fixed mag BS..:eek:

keeping it light? how is the magpul UBR in weight?
i know they are nice and solid, but weight? are they heavier than the CTR?

keeping it light? how is the magpul UBR in weight?
i know they are nice and solid, but weight? are they heavier than the CTR?

The UBR is a tad bit heavier but not much.. you will barely notice the difference.:D

Freaking nice. How much did that cost in total?

to be honest.. i don't know.. :D or i choose not to know. all i know it makes a big scratch on my credit card and debit card.:D

i was planning on doing a setup like that, very pretty looks awesome, the only problem is you provided all the information accept the important information:

like where did you buy each part.

and how much did it cost.

It would be much appreciated if you could fill us in on those details. i really dig your set up.

okay here goes..

most of the stuff i got it from Irvington Arms. It's a tad bit pricey but it's all worth it. some i got it online. You can actually save some if bought most of you stuff online. Prices are bases on estimates..

CASV EL Upper = $970.00
Magpul UBR = $300.00 ( i know it's a bit more expensive)
CMMG lower plus components = $200.00 plus
Surefire Scout: $365.00
Larue FUG = $90
Magpul ladders = $12.00 each
Vickers 2 point sling = $59.00
Midwest sling adpater = $29.00
Aimpoint with Larue Mount = $550.00
Magpul P-MA 10/30 = $28.00
Magpu Handgrip = $45.00


TAD Gear FAST Pack EDC = $284.00

The UBR is substantially heavier - almost a pound heavier than a CTR.

Chigga: I think it's a nice choice for a more substantial build, where the weight will help with balance, but it's too heavy for a lightweight carbine.

Stick with the CTR, SOPMOD or VLTOR

second to none.. the best pack i've owned. i used to own, blackwater, Eagle, Arc Teryx and ATS but so far Tad Gear exceeded my expectations.:D

Very nice build. I'm sure you will have fun with it at the range. Prepare to have a few onlookers admire the rifle since the handguard makes it look so different than your typical AR15. Range report next please.
