View Full Version : I got bored.

I had a Fajen Lightweight stock laying around, so I decided to install it on a 243 Mauser 98 I had built for the ex, before she became an "ex". Fajen stock is simple straight grained walnut, with holes drilled/routed to make it lighter. There is no obvious cheek piece, but it has a "hidden" cheekpiece, whch is nothing but simple swell built into both sides of the stock..

Rifle stock is now finished with 2 coats of MinWax Clear Gloss Wipe On Poly that I sprayed on with an airbrush. I have milled the B-Square base to allow easy access to reload. Giving more room for my fingers. Currently the rifle has a military bolt shroud, with a Buehler safety and Dayton Traister trigger. The stock is actually cut for an Interarms Mk X trigger which I will be getting this week to install. I need to install a recoil pad, I just haven't decided which kind or color to use.

I had to modify the scope base to allow room for loading. From this:

Excellent work.
When I saw the thread title "I got bored" I assumed this was about benchrest shooting. Instead it's about a beautiful little rifle. VEry cool.
