Im about to complete my Spikes .22 build and need a nice tactical red/green dot scope but dont want a holographic red dot or an airsoft scope but trying to keep the budget under $250 and a scope which will have a warranty. Any recommendations?

Try the Walter PS-22, Midway has them for $69.99. I just bought one for my GSG-5. If you want to go a little more try the Bushnell Trophy it runs around $160.00. Both of these are red dot only.

Which mount are you using to get the scope up off of the upper on an AR?

I got one of these and it works. I like it.

The one it came with. It's a high-rise mount specifically for AR applications.

Bushnell holosight perhaps? Same as an EOTech, but cheaper.

No such thing exists.
All the red/green combo sights are cheap stuff that belongs on airsoft.

The Strikefires are well built and come with a US-backed warranty.

Also, he wants this for a .22lr. I would imagine that most of even the cheaper stuff will hold a zero under the incredible recoil potential of 30gr bullets :)

He wants a scope with red and green dot, but not airsoft, so he must want quality.
No such thing exists under $250.

Having said that, the $40 airsoft sights work fine on 22's.
I have a BSA on my 10-22 that I paid about $20 or $30 for 10+ years ago.
Still works fine.

The Strikefire is a dot style scope with both red and green dots, high quality, under 250$, backed by a US warranty. It is also designed for real guns, not airsoft.

Being designed to handle AR recoil levels and above, it's definitely going to be fine on a .22lr

I have a friend that just ordered a Stikefire. I can't wait to check it when he finally gets it. From what I have heard they are a decent economical optic.

I have one of these on my Spike's build http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell-trophy-1x32-riflescope-730132p.html

It has both the red and green sights that you're looking for, but they can be hard to get your hands on (or at least they were a few months ago when I picked up mine).

Whatever you buy will probably be fine, .22's aren't hard on scopes.
