I was wondering if anyone makes a AR upper in .220 swift, since not too many rifle companies make any rifles in that caliber any more i'd say it's probably unlikely, but what do I know.

What about .204 Ruger?

I've seen some nice Uppers in that caliber.

You could get an AR smith to make you one from a blank. Don't think there are any ready made uppers available.

I'm aware of the .204 ruger uppers, for example:

I haven't really searched around for .204 AR uppers much though.

Probably will just end up getting one of these in .220 swift : http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/centerfire_rifles/model_700/model_700_VS_SF_II_specs.asp

Just curious about an AR upper though.

Talk to Ar-15 barrels, he will know or can make you one. But some ammo does not work well in AR's so ask him if .220 swift will work.

Is Ar-15 barrels a company or a member of this site. I tried to look him up in the member search, but can't find him.

The 220 Swift case length is 2.205"
The 223/5.56 case length is 1.760"
The 308 Win case length is 2.015"

The 220 Swift loaded rounds will not fit in the AR 15 or the AR 10 magazines.

The OAL of the .220 Swift is shorter than that of .308 though. Will the .220 case not fit through the ejection port?

The main problem is the case shape.
It won't feed well from a magazine.
If you want a big cased 22, go with a 22-243.
