I went to the local gun store and lonea nd behold I see that they have a gsg-5 behind the counter. It is the pistol version and was selling for 499 which i thought was prett fair. Should I go ahead and pick this one up or should i wait until they can get the rifle version? Your thoughts and feedback would help.

No way. With the magwell outside of the pistol grip, it's a CA assault weapon. Are you telling us they fixed that 10 round magazine to avoid AW status? Or, did you see the disassembled GSG-5 rifle? Did it have the fake suppressor on it? Lets no forget that it's not even on the safe handgun list.

Im pretty sure it was the pistol version. The barrel ended where the sight was and it did not have a butt stock. They told me that it was for LEO only so im assuming it was the pistol version.

If you're not a cop, you can't buy it from the FFL.

Unless it's for the job, individual cops can't buy it for personal use. LEO's are not exempt from the CA AW laws. What dept. is going to issue these.

Why would a LEO want a 22lr? Maybe to have fun with, but not for real work.
