Hey CG,

Whats the difference between FA and SA bolt carrier groups?

Is there any advantage / disadvantage of running a FA BCG in a SA CA-legal AR?

Thanks in advance,

TZL

It is legal to use an M16 bolt carrier in semiauto AR rifles.

Several reputable large AR mfgrs ship product that way.

M16 carriers are a bit heavier and some say they improve cycling.

So what are the material differences in a SA vs FA BCG? just heavier construction in the FA?

Are their any extra parts on a FA BCG? are they easy to tell apart?

Thanks

AMAZING! I typed in "ar15 m16 bolt carrier differences" into Google....

and got to this page (http://www.ar15.com/content/legal/AR15-M16Parts/) as one of the top results...Amazing what a quick search can do for your. You should try it.
