I know PayPal is anti-gun, but my account is growing and I'd like to buy some goodies using it. Do any of our sponsors accept or use paypal?

If they do, I would hope they don't violate the PayPal User Agreement regarding surcharges. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v51/baybones/nosurcharges.jpg

Violating the firearm stuff ban so you can make money is one thing, forcing people to pay YOUR fees is just greed.

True about the greed thing, but it's no difference then any big corporation.

Arco charges a 45cent fee to use ATM/Debit cards. Since gas prices went up, I have seen a lot of stations that have a "Cash" Price. People have the option NOT to use paypal and send a check/MO.

Your paying for convenience, just like anything else. Sure you can goto the post office, wait in line, get the MO, mail it off, or you could just pay a little bit more and do the whole transaction in under a minute.

How much is your time worth?

Two years ago Paypal closed my account with no investigation because I was collecting money for firearms related transactions. Sorry, Pay Pal won't use me so I don't use them. Get a Pay Pal credit card that is linked directly to your account (I think they used to use it) and use it or have the money transfered back to your banking account.

I already pay a credit card processor and so why do business with a company that doesn't want to do business with me? Especially if they won't let me.

PayPal is a method of paying for things, almost always for online transactions, that allows a relatively safe way of doing business. If you "pay" for something and it does not arrive or it is not as advertised, you have some recourse through PayPal. It took off in a huge way with ebay, and I believe that ebay owns them now.

I have sold two items that were firearm related and the purchasers both preferred to use PayPal, and I agreed to accept those terms. I can cash-out the amount and may just do that, but I was wondering if any suppliers accepted it as payment.

It goes without saying that PayPal's anti-gun policy rubs me raw. However using PayPal does generate sales that I otherwise would not get for my business (non gun related) and is a secure form of conducting business.

First, transfer your money OUT of paypal, and if you want to buy something from a vendor, send a money order or pay with credit cardsd. Don't give them any more fees than you need to.

Second, I disagree that having someone pay for your fees is wrong. It is done all the time, it is part of business, and if you don't like it, find a different seller who doesn't do that. Profit margin is all about having the buyer pay for perceived value and paying for some of the cost of doing business. When you buy a car, you can bet that you're paying for various costs that the seller incurs in order to be able to present a car to the public for sale.. advertising costs, transportation costs, overhead costs.. you're paying for it all. It's how business works.

Actually the seller is paying PayPal for the convenience of accepting credit cards. It is a contract violation (civil law?) to do what you agreed not to and explicitly surcharge people just for using PayPal. Rather than simply be legal, raise the price and say "cash discount" instead of "+3.X% for PayPal."

Another reason I stopped using them. I will not use a company that tries to tell me I have to take a loss to cover their fees. Paypal can pound sand.

So I guess you wouldn't pay for a credit card terminal service if you had a B&M store either then. That's basically what anyone is saying if they won't simply raise their prices in general (as opposed to just penalizing one form of payment) to cover the costs of doing business, and offering a cash discount for obvious reasons.

Apply for a paypal debit card. Use it to access your funds. It's also labeled and can be used as a master card. If you use it as a mastercard you get 1% back.

I don't agree with the non-firearm policy either. I have customers I wouldn't have if I didn't have that as a way to pay.

all the best,
Mike

I refuse to use Pay Pal. The way I see it, they are against me and my rights, so why would I bother to support them?
