Hello All,

So I'm a little bit confused here... I was just looking at the LaRue uppers and they say that their 20" model is made for a "rifle length lower" and for use with "rifle length buffersprings".

I was thinking of putting together a 16" length build, using a U-15 stock.

What exactly is a non rifle-length lower? Is there some carbine-length lower that is different from a rifle-length lower? I already have a stag lower (same configuration they use in a "super varmenter" rifle) on order. Is this not going to work with a 16" upper?

Also: is it OK to use buffersprings that are longer then nessacary? The U-15 comes with a bufferspring tube and it looks extremely difficult to get/make a shorter one that will work with this stock.

Rifle vs. Carbine buffer tubes/buffers/springs.

It just means they drill their gas port size to be used optimally with a rifle tube/buffer.
