Not really new but new to me.
Not sure if the stock is stock or if it has a different stock on it. The shop i bought it from said it was a custom stock. Was owned by a long distance competition shooter.
It has a VX-III Leupold scope, its .308

Nice beast. What is the roll marking on the barrel?
(ie., model, caliber)

It looks like a factory Model 700 VS. They came with HS precision stocks from the factory.

How hard is it to convert these rifles to an external magazine?

Some gun shops will tell you whatever it takes to get you to buy something. ;)

I hope you did not pay too much over $700 for it.

Badger I think makes a replacement floorplate that takes their DM.

It wasn't too much over 700, well worth the buy.

do you have a link?

Badger makes bottom metal for it and the stock requires inletting and placing some pillars. Unfortunately, its not a simple floorplate replacement.

HS makes one that will most likely be a simple floorplate replacement.

Randall has had good luck with his HS system. Thats not usually the norm.

Most people just have problems getting HS magazines.:D

Good things come to those who wait.

The best deal is to snag the bottom metal WITH a 10rd mag for $280.
Build 2-3 rifles that way and you can use all the mags for whatever rifle you happen to be shooting that day.

That sounds like a very, very expensive, yet fun, way to get extra magazines.:D

Gotta have the trifecta...

223, 243 & 308.

Well at least the 243 and 308 would share mags. I have a different idea for the 223 DBM...;)

so putting one of these on your rifle is hard to adjust?

Not really.

Not really. The mags aren't too hot and need to be adjusted to feed properly. And good luck finding an extra mag. When they become available, people usually buy a ton. I'd have to look again, but i think theres a DBM out now that will work with a factory BDL inlet and takes AICS mags.

Shot it this evening, its badass! Its already been zeroed in, its shooting high at 200yards but a pretty good grouping. I was able to get really close to the bullseye at 350 yards as well.

Thats awesome. Thats like the last scope I mounted. I took it to the range and it was zeroed for 476 yards in a 65 MPH left to right crosswind.:D Then I zeroed it at 100.:)

and certainly not zeroed at 100yds either.

maybe it's zeroed at 346 yds?
