I'm trying to find out whether this is a genuine WWII military K98 sniper scope or a commercial version. It is 11.2" long and the only markings on it are DURAL 4X. It is in good condition with very clear glass. Any idea of value?

Thanks guys.

I don't know about that scope, but I got a Zeiss 3-9 Diavari C this week for $100.
Turns out it's a $1000 class scope.
Score...

I'm no expert, but I remember hearing that military production scopes were soldered together, not screwed together. The idea being it would make them a bit less impervious to moisture in the field.

At least that's what I have HEARD.

Thanks for the info. I'm a little unclear what you meant about Claws, been stripped. Did you mean the finish?

Claw mounts, they were fitted/custom for each gun. The scope may be assembled from a few different scopes. Not sure, but the way the finish looks, kinda looks like it was assembled.
