Hypothetical question:
IF you have Non CA friendly firearm, can you still sell them if you are a new CA resident and the rifles are NOT in CA?
I would think all you need to do is just go to an out of state FFL where the firearm is located and give the buyer's FFL & info and all is done, right?
inputs please....

No need to go to an out of state FFL for shipment. You can legally ship to the buyer's FFL from any location as long as the FFL will accept shipment from an unlicensed individual.

The firearm in question in not CA friendly, but is located in a AW friendly state.
I am afraid some FUD NV FFLs might accuse one of wrongdoing, simply because one has a CA DL.
What info is taken, if any, by a FFL if transfering a firearm from FFL(seller) to FFL(buyer)?
I don't want to get 20 questions from a paranoid FUD FFL in NV.

I'd have no problem walking into an FFL with a CA resident who is selling me a non-CA compliant firearm as long as it is legal here. Who cares what they might think, you don't have to admit anything about where it was before it came into the store as long as everything done in the store is legal. A simple statement from the CA resident/owner that the firearm was kept out of CA and must be sold because it cannot be taken into CA legally should please the FFL. Beyond that, a refusal to discuss further is entirely your own business.

More comments are welcome.
I just moved from outta state. Deciding on whether to make CA compliant or just sell and get something else.
I like having my options open

No.
Federal law requires that an FFL be involved when a firearm is transfered between residents of different States.

No - still an interstate transfer (CA owner to non CA buyer) so the FFL is required by Feds.

That's for long guns, and they must obey the laws of BOTH states - CA requires the FFL for non-C&R long guns, too.
