I have a billet-cut lower made by Mega Gator, and they are very nice quality.

Although I haven't been looking for one, I haven't seen any MG lowers for sale in SoCal stores for a while, but would recommend them.

Here's a guy in AZ on GB, who has them for $130 and best part is, he's CA friendly: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=110154664

DD's Ranch $109. Good shop.

add shipping, fees, etc...

If you look long and hard you can pay about $150 OTD for a lower. You can find just about anyone that has them for $180 OTD.

Even a "little" out of the way driving, say, 25 miles each way, adds up since it's four times (DROS and pick-up).

Just find someone near you who has what you want in stock.

Yep, I got 3 from them. All the serial numbers are in order and they were flawless.

Cold War Shooters has a nice selection of brands and equipment, but their prices are about 15% higher than everyone else. I only shop with them if it's an item I cannot get that item elsewhere.

Perhaps I wasn't being clear. It's a Precision Operations lower, but made by for them Mega Machine Shop.

Precision Operations was a small custom shop in AZ. I think they may be gone now, as I can no longer find their website.

You sure that's billet? It has a lot of the characteristic forged shapings.

It is hard to tell from a pic but that does not look billet to me.

I would have to say you have a forged reciever, not billet as Mega never produced a billet. They did however do a lot of custom runs for small componies.

When I bought the lower from Precision Operations, it was listed by the owner and sold to me as a billet, and I had no reason to disbelieve them, as Mega Machine Shop does manufacture billet lowers and has CNC manufacturing equipment. I believe MMS make the billet lowers for POF.

I don't have another billet lower to compare mine to. The owners of Precision Operations could be mistaken though, but I'm not sure why if they're a FFL07, they would make that type of mistake.

Either way, Mega do make a very high quality lower.

Regardless, it's a very nice looking lower and I very much like the logo - which is all that matters with lowers anyways! :D
