View Full Version : Another Model 1 Question

So I know people have mixed feelings about Model 1 center fire uppers, but what about their rim fire parts and uppers? I know Spikes uses a lot of they're stuff.

Spike's used M1S .22 barrels for a while. Not sure if they still are now.

The M1S .22 uppers should be fine for casual plinking and target practice. It's nothing more than one of their .22 barrels mated with a Ceiner .22 conversion kit without it's chamber adaptor.

I have a M1S 20" A2 upper. I've had no issues with it. Shoots every time and very fun to plink with. Lots easier to clean compared with standard Ar upper (no locking bolt chamber). Generally, accurate enough for plinking at paper targets. My $0.02.

Model 1 uses ER Shaw barrels

are E.R. Shaw's good? I seen there barrels at the gun show for the 10/22 and was wondering on quality

E.R Shaw barrels are decent barrels there target barrels are pretty accurate.

I see no reason not to use their rim fire parts. Spikes still uses their barrels and their conversion kits are attichin [SP]? design.
