Has anyone found a carry strap for the wood stocked factory 10/22 setup that doesn't require any drilling to install?

Drats, looks like I'll have to change the stock! :pinch: After the stock swap, I'll have officially spent more on the upgrades than the 10/22 itself.

Don't have to change the stock.
Just get a couple screw-in sling studs.
Or, if you don't want studs, get flush mount cups that you drill a hole and epoxy into the stock.

There are slings that have no swivels or metal. They basically form a loop on each end and go over the barrell and the buttstock. Very simple, and they work well. I used one for my shotgun because I didn't want to drill, and I also didn't want to be bothered with a sling in the duck blind. The only drawback may be that if you use it a lot, it may wear the blueing. (But you'd have to be lugging that rifle around everywhere)
Here's an example from Midway...

Hope this helps. I like mine, but it's over 25 years old and leather.

This might work too as I'm only planning to use it when shooting it off-hand at the range. The strap makes a great stabilizer. :)

Those non-attached slings are mostly for carry.
If you want to actually tension against it, you want it mounted into the stock like a REAL sling.
Just get some screw-in studs and call it done.
All you have to do is drill a little pilot hole and screw them in.

I'll look at some old wooden stock rifles for ideas as to where I'd like to mount those babies. :)

Will those screw ins work with the plastic stock on the synthetic 10/22?
