Forgive my ignorance, but I'm not a fisherman. Can someone tell me what type of fish this is? I was lakeshore camping at Lake Don Pedro and what looked like hundreds of these came boiling up into the shore. Not sure if they were being chased or what. They were about 4-5" long. Appeared very shiny silver.

I'm assuming it's a Threadfin shad, Striped Bass usually chase after these shad in Resevoirs.

Shad...cool, thanks. They made a helluva racket as I was sitting there peacefully throwing back a cold beverage.

It's a shad their pretty common here but I would really like to see a striper in pedro. sink a hook in it and set it on the bottom. we got some big blue cats in here.
