What do you think? I hate california, but only for gun reasons...

Why topload when you could have gotten a regular bullet button...

well, the guy at the gun shop tells me its illegal dropping the clip.... while the upper is attatched to the lower... I know all how you look at it... its open to interpretation...

Also people at the range think similarly.

I don't want to risk anything, although I do have a bb in my parts drawer ... Im considering it.

It's a sweet rig!

Though, you will continue to get needlessly flamed for using the term "clip" to refer to a "magazine".

A clip is usually a single piece of material (i.e. an m1 garand clip) while a magazine involves multiple parts (and usually a spring such as the AR magazines).

dont listen to the ****ing retards at gun shops that spread FUD. They may not want to sell bullet buttons and thats OK but they are NOT illegal. You are no more safe using a prince 50 vs a bullet button. I would argue the opposite. All it takes is a stupid cop with an allen wrench to kill your defense.

... its open to interpretation...

Except it isn't. The legislation specifically says that a tool or a bullet tip can be used to drop the magazine provided the rifle can not accept a detachable magazine. That is exactly what a bullet button does.

If it were "open to interpretation" one would think that someone would be a test case for a manufacture and possessiong charges of an AW or a dealer would be a test case for selling rifles with the bullet button. The fact is that the vehemiently anti-gun DOJ has yet to get anyone with a bullet button convicted of possession/manufactuing an AW or pulling a dealer's FFL for selling rifles with bullet buttons.

As for your friends who believe it illegal, print out the AW Flowchart, it explains everything and sources every single piece of info from the CA Penal Code.
