I am pretty new to the whole california AR scene. I am trying to convert my AR over to CA legal and I just went out and bought the bullet button conversion kit but I was reading it and it says not CDOJ legal, but I bought this from a gun store. Do they not have to follow the laws? What actually constitutes a CA legal AR?

Here are a couple pics of my AR.

The BB makes it legal. Make sure your mag is only 10 rounds though. Whit a BB it can ONLY be 10 rounds.

The bullet button package says that the kit has not been approved by the CAL DOJ, but the gun store is selling them.

The DOJ has been infiltrated by members in close alliance with the Brady campaign. As such, their agenda fits those designs.

In essence, those infiltrators were given a beat down, which led to many thousands of AR style rifles in CA.

The DOJ, as a face saving measure and in an attempt to "put their finger in the dam" began a campaign of misinformation and abdication of advising responsibility. Their "party line" is they refuse to state anything is legal, but defer to all CA county DA's to determine individually (aka - "I want to scare you").

To date there have been zero AW convictions with legally configured rifles. This includes several arrests that had favorable outcomes for the defendant.

I'd say it's far more important to understand and be able to regurgitate the flow-chart's logic without having it in your hands.

The DOJ IS NOT going to tell you your rifle is legal, but it is, if it has a BB and you only have a 10 rnd mag. It appears you have a 30 rnd mag (unless it is a 10 rnd mag in 30 rnd body). You need to change that, that IS illegal. Don't believe the DOJ is gonna tell you the truth. I bought my fully assembled AR15 M4 from a Oak Tree Gun Club. On Monday and Tuesdays they are closed for law enforcement and court personell. That means cops and lawyers. They also sell to these people. These people have had no say against these rifles. If you read the laws that define a AW, you will see that there are ways to go around those, such as a BB.

Good point...
It could be a listed reciever.
In that case, the whole gun would have to be rebuilt onto an off-list reciever.

Indeed... make sure it's not on the Kasler list in the flow chart.

Or go here. (http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/infobuls/kaslist.pdf)

Your 30rd mags will need to stay behind or be broken down into parts, never to be assembled in state.

This page (http://thegunwiki.com/Gunwiki/LegalCaliforniaMovingTo) is very nice if moving to CA.
