OK, confession time. I've got an unhealthy obsession with the Heckler & Koch G3. I think it's absolutely gorgeous and have always wanted to own one (or a clone).

Where can I learn about all the legalities surrounding buying a rifle in California? I'm not the do-it-yourself kinda guy - are there any CA legal HK clones? I'd love to get something in 5.56 so that I can buy one of those .22lr kits, too. Does anyone have a ballpark of how much an HK clone costs? Are they reliable?

You'll either need a RaddLock or you'll have to build a "wing" and go featureless....

also search for PTR-91, since chances of getting a HK G3 or HK91 are nil to none.

While leaning towards none..
