I didn't want to threadjack Boo's thread.
My question is that I have a Mossberg 500 8 shot with 20'' barrel.
Is there a longer barrel I can use for clay shooting?

Thanks.

Check out Maverick Arms site. They are offering a 28" barrel for the M-88/M-500 shotguns with an 8 round tube (Scroll down to the bottom of the page):

Simple answer to your question is Yes. Search around the auction sites, there are tons of them out there for sale. Just make sure you get a barrel that has the mossberg accu-choke system.

28" vent ribbed barrel is what you want and seems to be the best compromise between the ol' school longer barrels and something as short as practical. This length has essentially become the industry/sporting standard. There are some that prefer the 26" or even 24" for something lighter than can be swung around faster.

You can find them on GB used for $50-$60 or can buy new for as little as $80 without the screw in chokes.

I recommend the screw in choke model if within your budget so you can use it for clay, trap, hunting.

Also, though getting the 8 round tube is not a bad idea, for clay I would not recommend the additional weight which you will find bothersome.

You might consider instead an extension that matches your 21" barrel if you do not have one all ready as for tactical the extra rounds makes for more excitement.
