I don't know if this has been posted here yet, but let me introduce you to one of the butt ugliest guns on the market at the moment. Centerfire Systems are selling .308 1919s that have been "tacticooled" with a M230 conversion kit made by TNW Firearms. Priced at a mere $2699.99.

It just looks wrong.

Seriously? I think if Hi-Point Firearms was to produce a belt fed gun, it would look something like this.

Well if I had $2,700 laying around with nothing better to spend it on, I might pick one up just to have.:53:

I'm sorry something about owning a "Crew Served Weapon" is just really cool.:36: Whoever put that abomination together needs to get back on his meds and step away from the gun.

No, It's M230, as it's listed on Centerfire and TNW. Putting on a Tapco SAW stock and pistol grip doesn't make it a M240.

I wonder what they did about the barrel booster- does it even have one anymore? I wonder if it works- the booster is there for a reason....

Remember, it IS a Century arms creation....

that hurts my eyes....

09-05-2008, 4:49 AM
WTF!! I would NEVER do that to my 1919
I threw up a little in my mouth right now... :D

Someone at Angeles had that front end on their 1919 this past Sunday, but kept the traditional pistol grip and A6 butt stock to keep it California legal. The kit as shown has a pistol grip below the action which would get you back into the AW flow chart...

Busy writing notes in his range book between single shots and I never got around to asking him about it.

If the barrel is light enough, no booster is required. Prince50 made and was offering at one point a mini M2HB setup for the 1919, not sure if he still does.

Range notes for a 1919? WTF?

I'll stick with my 1919 shorty thank you.

I saw Prince50's mini M2- the barrel was cut paper thin for it to work- he said you couldn't shoot much through it woithout severely overheating the thing... I didn't know he was offering them for sale- maybe he found a good middle ground of weight vs. function?

As a side note, the lightened 'A6' contour barrels in .308 tend to make the guns run nicer due to the extra recoil force.
