Ready to finish my SR-10, need advise from you AR-10 guys to help me finish it.
I got one of those early Hesse lowers back in 04 or 05 and I was running it with some MI flip ups. I really didn't like them all that much. I ended up selling it not long ago when I got this SR-10 Aircraft Armaments lower. I decided to stay with the carbine so I wouldn't be tempted to sell my R700.

Now that these things have finally gained popularity more people are making accessories for them. Now I'm having a hard time choosing sights. I really don't mind a carry handle other then they are expensive and might look stupid with a flip up front sight. Also since its carbine I was thinking Eotech. I really don't want to put a scope on it!

Whats working for you guys? I need some feed back on sights that are on the market for AR-10's, Irons or red dots.

Heres some pics with the upper. I have Black hand guards on the way.

Build so...

Armalite 16in upper
Flash hider is borrowed from M24armorer ( cut and re-threaded 50B hider)
AA SR-10 lower
Armalite parts kit
Vltor buttstock
hogue grip.
and a 10/20 mag I made myself

I'd go KAC 600m for the rear and their front... They make a gas block version.

Where's the larue?
I'd buy KAC irons

I'm gonna buy a few things before finishing this project.. Still need a lpk and a 10rd mag. I want to scope mine. For a red dot, I'd buy a eotech or burris.

Well thats two for Kac so I might just have to do that.

I got a 308 action block so I could install the Larue rail but you gotta "carve" it out to fit the uppers properly. What a pain! So I put it off for a rainy day.

Tech,
Thats a great looking rifle. I think you need to just ship it to me and let me finish it for ME (I mean for you).

If you're going to put a rail on, go KAC URX :D With integrated front BUIS

Those are nice rails plinker. I already have the Larue but I'm really liking how light the rifle is without the rail.

PS I got one of those KAC trigger guards...well actually I think its a fake for airsoft. I'm modifying it to fie my lower. I just like the way they look. Its made of some type of metal and not plastic at least.

It's just a triggerguard... if you like how it looks, go for it. Magpul's are plastic :TFH:

LaRue's a good rail... It won't be that much heavier, unless you went extended.

DD are still about as light as plastic handguards.

Why does the LaRue have to be trimmed? They make AR10 rails... some incompatibility?

The action block for the AR10 models needs to be trimmed and fitted to hold the upper receiver while I install the rail. I'm sure the Larue rail will fit fine.

The KAC trigger guard needed modification though. It was almost X2 the width of a standard trigger guard. Thats why I thought it may be for airsoft.
