Do I have to use the 308/AR10 style buffer and buffer spring if I am using a rifle length barrel? I'm a bit confused as I thought I needed to get one, but was told not for a rifle length barrel (24"). I am using the VLTOR buttstock in MilSpec.

Yes, since you're using a MilSpec buffer tube. Make sure they're the AR10/DPMS 308 carbine buffer/spring though. DPMS are the cheaper of the two.

Thanks. And I have the DPMS upper, so I'll stick with the DPMS spring. I need the buffer, too?

Yes, you need the .308 buffer. Like I said, you can use DPMS or Armalite it doesn't matter.
I have a Noveske Lower with a LMT SOPMOD complete, except I used the DPMS .308 spring and buffer.

Got to research this!
Thanks again. Off to e-shop!
