It won't fit into:

A.) The lower receiver, ONLY?

or

B.) The lower receiver with upper receiver installed?

Wow! Without seeing it, can't understand why it will not work. I have the same set up.

A) The detent will not fit into the lower receiver only.

Not sure where to go from here

What is the problem? Is the hole not large enough? Or?

Does it fit in the front detent hole? How bout the other detent from the front, does it fit into the rear? If they go in the front just fine, it's probably the hole being undersize. If the other detent fits in the rear, then it's the detent oversize.

The spring fits in but the detent wont. I'm assuming that the hole will need to be reamed out slightly, but I wanted to avoid that if possible.

i had this problem with my rra lower. what i did was i took a drill bit and deburred the inside of the hole. just make sure you have the right size drill bit. it should fit after that.
