I am considering purchasing one of these (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=706845&t=421116190#enalarge). Jewell Trigger Remington 700, 40X with Safety 1-1/2 oz to 4 lb Stainless Steel. It gets excellent reviews. What do you think?

They're excellent -- had one in a Winchester Sharpshooter 300 WM.
Just make sure you set the trigger weight for what you're doing. 1 1/2 OUNCE is wonderful off a full benchrest at the range but way too light for a field/sniper gun. I had my shilen set at one pound. My friend Richard has his Shilen DGA set at like 2 oz.

Considering the source... that's pretty much all I need to hear ;)

I don't know about the Remington 700 trigger, but I bought one for my Winchester model 70 and it really made a world of difference once I got it installed. Its very crisp, no creep or overtravel, BUT it required a major re-work to get the safety to work and required a bunch of filing on the trigger housing to make enough room for the Jewel trigger.

Usually at the bench it breaks down with Shilen Riggers on Remingtons and Jewel triggers in Winchesters.
Both great triggers and great guns. You'll do fine.
