I bought a bushmaster carbon 15 before I knew about the whole oll thing a couple of yrs ago, ever since I started building my oll's I put the carbon 15 in a corner with only 200rnds fired through it and is now collecting dust, My question is, is it worth building a lower for the carbon 15 upper? Has anyone that bought the carbon15, put it on a oll? Or should I just keep it collecting dust and not waste money and time on it?

Choices:

1.) Sell it (there are people who prefer them - consider consignment at a shop that only deals in these)

2.) cut out the magwell & catch to put in a BB

3.) replace lower

Personally, 1 or 2 are the best options. The Carbon-15 stuff isn't bad, but it's not the hardest use parts. I would really consider #2 but skip the BB and install a Ciener kit.

Well I have a stripped lower right now, I had it saved for another project, but it's going to be a while before I get it started, so I was just thinking of putting the carbon15 on that lower, I just dont know if it's worth it, or if the carbon15 would be good in the long run after heavy range usage, I just dont know how well these uppers are made.

I am very happy with my Carbon 15 and would recommend you get a C15 lower and build that up with a BB.

Can I just put on a regular lower? I see that the carbon 15 stripped is about 250 and I'm trying to save funds for my future project.

Sure, of course... if you have a spare lower, strip your Carbon-15 and build it into the one you have on hand. Buy the extra parts you need and you're GTG.
