Which would you choose and why?

My initial thought would be 16" looks cool but maybe the 22" is more functional since I would expect the highest best use of .308 is longer range and the 22" would enhance accuracy and velocity.

Appreciate your thoughts.

What/where/how far you plan on shooting?

Deer, pigs, zombies and such/wherever I find them and it is legal to do so/ 200 yards and beyond most likely (I'm not good at sneaking up on deer or zombies for that matter.)

Although I would like to see what a .308 would do to a prairie dog.

I chose 16".

Will you really use it at more than 200 yards ?

Size is all that counts.

I have a 16". I kinda wished I had the 22". It is what I ordered at the time, but the 16" was shipped instead. I t did not bother me too much. They were the same price at the time.

Is there a reason I shouldn't use it at 200 Yards and beyond?

If you don't shoot long range, the 16" is fine and you save some weight. The rifle is also more balanced with the shorter barrel.

length = velocity

shorter = lighter and better handling

You're hunting - keep it light.

A longer barrel could make it the front end heavier so go with the 16" since it is more practical. If you are looking at shooting beyond 200 yards you may want to look at buying another gun IMO.
