Anyone ever hunt at Red Bank Ale & Quali Game Bird Club? (www.redbankhunting.com) I'm considering getting into the sport to hunt Turkey or Wild Hog, but didn't know what I would be getting myself into. Few questions I had are:

1) What if I suck and I miss? Do I still have to pay the $700 for a hog or the XX for the turkey?

2) If I kill the bird/pig will the place gut it for me and prep it for me to take home since I don't know or really care to do that piece myself?

3) Do I need to get all cammoed up to really hunt? e.g., do I need to go buy a ghillie suit or something?

4) How far can I expect to engage the animal? Am I going to need to get really proficient out to 200-300 yards?

5) Is a Saige 7.62x39mm sufficient to hunt with assuming I know how to use the optics or is this a totally inadequate firearm?

6) Am I allowed to go hunting with a rifle like the Saiga?

I tried emailing the guys there, but hadn't got a response and didn't know who here had experience hunting or with either this specific club or any club up in Northern California. As I said, I'm new to it, so don't really want to try and learn how to do all the tracking on my own (yet). At some point if I really enjoy it, perhaps, but initially I need to see if I'm able to deal with killing an animal.. I should be as I have no problem fishing... e.g., I don't like to do Catch & Release, I only fish to eat the fish.

I know turkey season is coming up so I'd like to get some input before I commit to going to the club and hopefully get an idea of how things work and what sort of extra gear I'd need besides my gun, good shoes, and bullets..

Any input would be great, thanks...

5. 7.62x39mm with good softnose ammo would be a good boar rifle out to maybe 150 yards or so.

That place looks like a full fledge hunting paradise. I would start saving your duckets because it does not look cheap at all. Have you tried calling them at the number on their web site?

Haven't tried calling them yet.. was hoping to get some feedback from here so I can call and be a little more educated before I call.

Why softnose (is that the same as softpoint?) instead of FMJ? Does it have to do with how much it damages the animal?
