Police: Armed suspect was ‘ready for war’
Posted: 06:29 PM ET
(CNN) — A police officer and two citizens subdued an armed man who drove to a California probation office with 11 crude bombs, 70 loaded magazines and more than 4,000 rounds of ammunition, police said.
“This guy was ready for war,” said Yreka (prono: why-REE-ka) Police Chief Brian Bowles said in a written statement. “We were very lucky this guy was stopped and nobody was killed yesterday.”
The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon, when citizens saw the suspect acting suspiciously near the Siskiyou County Probation Department and called police, Bowles said.
Wow, another felon in possesion of things he wasn't supposed to have... I bet he aquired all of those items legally. I am just glad nobody was hurt.

Hey, loaded mags are heavy man. If someone hit me with one, I'm sure it would hurt. At least more than if it was an empty mag.

Doesn't say they were all 30rds, they could of been 5-7-8-9-10-12-13-14-15-17-20-30-33-40-50rd mags or hell even 75rd drums or 100rd drums.
Maybe he had boxes of extra ammo or some shotguns.

Are they arresting him for being under-armed?

If it's .223, that's a cryin' shame that it's going to get destroyed.

This guy had 2 SKS, one bolt action, a mini-14 and an AR-15 type can’t really tell, most of the rounds are on stripper clips and mags,
I wonder how long it would take to discharge 4000 rounds going non stop.

That makes sense he needed 70 10rd mags because he was in Kalifornia. If he was in just about any other state he would only need 24 30rounders. Damn Hi-Cap mag laws affect everyone even the criminals!!!

The DA that goes after cops for doing their job, yet lets the county employee that was growing on 10 arces get a slap on the wrist.
I'm suprised a couple of probation officers didn't drop him (I though Humboldt County was the only county not to arm their P.O.s)?

With the exception of the 11 bombs. It looks just like a normal day heading to the range.
70 loaded magazines and more than 4,000 rounds of ammunition
sounds like he was dangerously low on ammo :O

I quit taking that much stuff to the range. You have to make so many trips from the car. Then there are the lookie loo's, who insist on wanting to know what it's all for:(
