Greetings from your neighbor to the north (OR). I have a gentleman that would like to purchase an upper for an AR-15 from me, and I am just checking to see if there are any issues with shipping an AR upper assembly to someone in California?

Thanks in advance.

An upper is not a firearm and can be shipped here without any worries.

This is correct. It is the buyers responsibility to assemble the upper and the lower in a legal configuration.

As said, an upper is NOT a firearm and can be shipped to CA with no problems.

Just recently I got two uppers from TX and VA with no problems.

You can ship any upper you want to California and there is nothing illegal about it. It can even be a short barreled upper. It is the receiver's responsibility to make sure they do not have constructive possession of a SBR, not yours. Ship away and congrats on your sale.
